Nomadic Expeditions - PhilanthropyAll of the incredible lands we have traveled to, and the wonderful people we have met there, have given us so much, and as a company we take very seriously our responsibility to give back. From the National History Museum of Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar to nomads in the Gobi affected by severe winter conditions, Nomadic Expeditions makes donations to and furnishes support for a wide range of organizations and communities.
Our annual gift of 500,00 tugrugs (the Mongolian currency) to the local Gobi Naadam Festival is just the beginning. Other examples of our philanthropic efforts have included donations of funds and supplies to Ulaanbaatar’s General Hospital No. 3; schools and children’s conservation clubs in the Gobi; Mongolia’s only kindergarten for speaking- and hearing-impaired children, which was founded by one of our guides; and the Lotus Children’s Orphanage Center, a home to more than 120 children in the capital. Nomadic Expeditions has also given sponsorship and donations to the Mongolian Young Leaders Program and the Arts Council of Mongolia, and we have extended our support to New York’s Tibet House and the Japanese Embassy in Ulaanbaatar for relief efforts for tsunami victims.
