Around Mongolia in Twenty Days
Join Nomadic Expeditions on this ultimate Mongolian adventure especially designed for the celebration of our 20th anniversary with an ambitious goal of exploring Mongolia’s major ecosystems and diverse cultures in twenty days. This epic journey explores all four different regions of Mongolia: the legendary central steppes, fragrant forests by the Siberian border, high mountains in the west and the mystical desert in the southern part of the country. Travelers will discover from the diverse wildlife of the Gobi and the crystal blue waters of Lake Hovsgol, to the tradition of golden eagle hunting of the Kazakhs and historic Buddhist temples in Central Mongolia in comfort and good conscience.

Through exciting activities geared to bring unforgettable experience to adventurers and special access to and meetings with field specialists and prominent Mongolian leaders from different walks of life, travelers will truly immerse in the Mongolian way of life. For an intimate and genuine cultural experience, we will attend private Naadam games in the heart of the Gobi Desert. Competitors wear colorful traditional finery as they demonstrate their impressive skills in archery, horserace and wrestling.

Itinerary at a Glance:
Day 1 - Arrive in Ulaanbaatar.
Day 2 - Visit Gandan Monastery and Natural and National History Museums. A special guest will join the group for a welcome dinner.
Day 3 - Drive to Hustain Nuruu National park to spot the last remaining wild horses and continue to Hogno Khan Mountains.
Day 4 - Explore the grounds of magnificent Erdene Zuu and Shankh Monasteries
Day 5 - Return to Ulaanbaatar and visit Bogd Gegen Winter Palace.
Day 6 - Fly to westernmost province of Mongolia-Bayan Ulgi. Drive to Tolbo Lake.
Day 7 - Pass the burial mounds and continue to the showcapped Tsengel Khairkhan Mountains.
Day 8 - Spend today hiking.
Day 9 - Return to Ulgii town and fly to Ulaanbaatar.
Day 10 - Drive north to Amarbayasgalant Monastery.
Day 11 - Continue overland journey to Lake Hovsgol through Bulgan Province
Day 12 - Arrive in Murun and visit the local temple.
Day 13 - Drive to the Lake Hovsgol.
Day 14 - Spend this day exploring the lakeshore on foot, horse or kayak.
Day 15 - Fly from Murun to the Gobi Desert.
Day 16 - Hike in the Yol Valley.
Day 17 - Ride a Bactrian camel at Moltsog Els sand dunes and visit Tugregiin Shiree in the afternoon.
Day 18 - Witness Naadam festival games and enjoy a dinner at Flaming Cliffs as sun sets.
Day 19 - Fly back to Ulaanbaatar and enjoy a traditional Mongolian musical and throat singing performance.
Day 20 - Depart.
