2020 Condé Nast Traveler “Travel Experts”: Mongolia and The Himalaya

Following an extensive vetting and research process, the editors of Conde Nast Traveler have picked the best travel specialists in the world for their feature “The Expert’s Issue.” The April 2020 issue of Condé Nast Traveler was dedicated to the “Travel Experts.” We are proud to announce that our Founder and CEO Jalsa Urubshurow was once again chosen as the Specialist for Mongolia. Also, on the list, is our Director of Operations Sanjay Saxena, named as the Specialist for the Himalaya. Both Jalsa and Sanjay feel humbled to have received these awards for over a decade.

Having these specialists in leadership roles at Nomadic Expeditions provides a wealth of knowledge to our team which allows us to best plan your specially curated expedition. Our company would be non-existent without the unparalleled expertise we pride ourselves in. Being able to offer our travelers an authentic experience is one of our main objectives and our specialists know the ins and outs of each of the lands we travel. We are proud to offer our guests off-the-beaten-path journeys which live on in their memories and hearts for years to come.

Jalsa Urubshurow is recognized as a world travel specialist for Mongolia. He knows his ancestral homeland better than virtually anyone and plans trips designed to see the best of what Mongolia has to offer. A co-founder of the North America-Mongolia Business Council (NAMBC), a non-profit organization comprised of the CEOs of American and Canadian corporations active in Mongolia, Jalsa, along with our team here at Nomadic Expeditions, are dedicated to expanding relations between Mongolia and North America. Jalsa’s continued exploration of Mongolia, especially now through the eyes of his son, have brought him great joy and an enduring desire to engage others personally in initiating and developing sustainable practices wherever they travel. He believes traveling by four-wheel drive allows the traveler to understand the land better than via aircraft.

2020 Condé Nast Travel Expert Awards Our Director of Operations, Sanjay Saxena, has been named a world travel specialist for the Himalaya. From the east to the west the greatest of the earth’s mountain ranges, dividing Asia, this region is truly one of a kind. Exploring the Himalaya has been a passion of Sanjay’s since his youth in India. The son of a General in the Indian Army, a taste for the faraway places is in his DNA. Sanjay’s deep, insider’s knowledge of his homeland together with his talent for creating unique itineraries to traditional and remote destinations, make him one of the travel world’s top-ranking India and Tibet specialists.  Since 2003, he has received Conde Nast’s “Top Travel Specialist” award for his exemplary work in South Asia, specifically India, Tibet, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
